Nutrafit delivers Green Health and Fitness Solutions. We are passionate about the environment and do everything we can to reduce our Co2 Emissions and deliver eco- friendly health and fitness services.
Nutrafit’s Green Policy...
REFURBISHMENT
Materials & Building - Nutrafit wherever possible has tried to use natural and eco friendly products during the renovation of their training studios, such as Ecos Organic Paints, Rubber flooring, Sustainable wooden materials.
Nutrafit was also very conscious during the refurbishment to keep waste to the minimum and recycle, reuse wherever possible. 80% of waste from the project was recycled. Nutrafit has also made huge attempts to make the building more energy efficient, going above and beyond expectations from planning and building control. This involved the services of an environment consultant to calculate u values, and making suggestions for improvements.
Nutrafit refurbishment involved the insulating of almost all exterior walls, and floors, and roof, secondary glazing of windows were possible and necessary and highly efficient heating ,ventilation and cooling options and water under floor heating.
Fixtures & Fittings - During the design and planning process Nutrafit was conscious about the training studios running as eco-friendly as possible on a day to day basis, thus selecting the most efiicient fixtures, fitting and equipment we possibly could. This includes, energy efficient lighting, ventilation fans, hand and hair dryers, coffee machine, water dispenser, low water consumption showers and taps and wc’s.
Mechanical Equipment - Incorporated into the planning was the use of natural ventilation where possible, energy efficient air heat pump air conditioning (giving upto 4 units of power for every 1 used), Heat Recovery extract and ventilation system (using heat going out to warm air coming in), Highly efficent ACV condensing combination boiler to heat water and heat, and most exciting grey water system which filters and recycled shower water to use for toilets, washing machine and washing windows.
DAY TO DAY RUNNING
Energy Consumption
- Nutrafit makes every effort to reduce the amount of energy consumption in its
studios which was carefully considered during the desigh and planning stage.
Where possible fitness equipment uses self generating power with treadmills being the only plugged in supply. The treasmills are eco powered, using 40 % less power than the average.
All light bulbs and many fittings are of the energy saving type
All Lights are switched off when not needed, and many on sensors.
All Computers are switched off at sockets when not in use.
Nutrafit have switched electricity suppliers to Ecotricity. (Ecotricity invest what its customers spend on electricity in cleaner forms of power. The only green energy company building new renewable energy sources.)
Nutrafit participates in Car share, and journey plans wherever possible to ensure minimum use of the car and fuel
Nutrafit’s first aim has to ensure minimal usage of power with fittings and equipmpment. Our long term plan is to look into the introduction of solar power panels which was taken into consideration when selecting a compatible boiler.
Waste
- Nutrafit wherever possible try to reduce waste products. We send the majority of communications, invoices and reports via email to cut back on paper waste, we try to reuse wherever possible, such as envelopes.
Nutrafit keeps printing waste to minimum by using more efficient printing technology and reuse ink cartridges, by having them refilled wherever possible.

Nutrafit recycle all recyclable waste when it is not reusable. Any food waste including coffee grains are composted.
Stationary / Marketing Literature
- Nutrafit uses Recycled paper for our printer / copier
Nutrafit uses HP Officejet printer which has upto 50% lower cost per page and energy consumption than colour lasers and will refill ink cartridges wherever possible

Nutrafit produce all new stationary and marketing literature on recycled paper / card, which are printed using vegetable inks wherever possible. Nutrafit uses Eco- friendly company alocalprinter to produce all of it printed stationary and marketing literature.
All of Nutrafits' new marketing literature, business cards and stationary show the FSC 100% recycled logo.
Supplies & Suppliers - Nutrafit makes every effort to ensure that supplies and products used and offered to clients are as green, natural and environmentally friendly as possible as possible. This includes:
